Dukes of Iron, strict as they were, the Dukes of Alba, but also Leicester, John of Austria,  Parma, or Louis of Nassau, Maurice of Nassau, and William of Orange, among many others, were some of the most notable generals of their time. They led the armies of the golden era of the Pike and Shot, the era of Phillip II of Spain, Elizabeth I of England, Henry IV of France, in late 16th-century. This volume I is centered in Alba and Orange, the two starting antagonists of the 80 Years War.
